How the Mace Energy Method worked for me

I stumbled upon The Mace Energy Method by pure accident last year as I was flicking through my phone. A practitioner from USA called Jerry Marzinsky spoke about how he had worked with people for years with schizophrenia in the penal system and despite his years of experience and qualifications, it was The Mace Energy Method (MEM) that had been the modality that had finally worked for people. I was intrigued and set about researching what this was all about. It led me to an Australian website “The Causism Institute”, and as they say..  the rest is history!

My first appointment (when I decided I wanted to learn how to facilitate MEM) was one where I had to go through a session myself. I chose Sherrie Hatfield as my trainer, a lady who had facilitated MEM for over 20 years. A lovely and approachable lady, she told me I had to make sure it was the right thing for me before we made any decisions about training to do it. Being true to form, as MEM is not a talk therapy, I’m not going to discuss here what issues I had but at the end of the 2 hours I was stunned. Did I feel better?…YES! Did it seem clever and deep?…NO! It was easy! I said to her, “What do I need to do now?”, only for her to reply, “Get on with your life and enjoy it”. There were no exercises to do, I just had to meet up again the following week and discuss how things had been.

The following week I had a couple of things that had surfaced and we “ran” them and I was back feeling the weight removed as I had the week before over the first issue. It was at this point we both decided I would train to become a practitioner.

I didn’t find the training easy despite the modality itself being so easy. Looking back I suppose it was the many triggers I had that had become reactive as the weeks went by because the training was designed to bring everything out. You see, you can’t help someone if their triggers cause a trigger in yourself, so you have to work through them all. I was astonished to find things appearing in my life now and causing issues that went as far back as me being only 5 years old. And of course there’s no need to talk about them, but you get an image and when you dis-create that image it is like a domino effect where every time that scenario has triggered you since, just falls away. It really is the most amazing but bizarre thing to experience. Some people instantly see a difference and some things are more subtle and happen over time. I have experienced both sides of this. Sometimes I have thought immediately ‘Wow, that doesn’t bother me now’, and other times I have slowly become aware over time that an issue I had seems to no longer have any detrimental effect on me.

And what I love about it is, if you feel within the first half hour of the session it’s really not for you then you are refunded and the session stopped. I also really like that I am now part of a community that helps each other. You can’t do an MEM session on yourself you see, you always need somebody outside of yourself to help you observe the very thing you aren’t seeing! Life will always throw you a curve ball, but having other practitioners there to help me gives me a sense of optimism in the face of any adversity I may encounter going forward in my life. ❤️
